On October 18, 2018 at 10:18 a.m., 24-Hour Medical Staffing Services (24HRMED), along with millions across the state, participated in the Great California ShakeOut. Not only is the Great California ShakeOut an annual drill to inform, prepare, respond, and recover in the event of a disaster, but also for communities, schools, and organizations to review and update their emergency preparedness. Also, California has a higher risk of earthquakes due to the infamous San Andreas Fault line. 24HRMED’s Emergency Evacuation Plan details procedures in the event of a fire, earthquake, explosion, disaster, or medical emergencies. The purpose of the Emergency Evacuation Plan is to ensure that, during an emergency, 24HRMED employees exit quickly and safely.
To Reduce your Chance of Injury, Remember to Drop, Cover, and Hold On when an Earthquake hits
- Under shelter: hold on to it with one hand; be ready to move with your shelter if it shifts
- No shelter: hold on to your head and neck with both arms and hands.
DROP where you are, onto your hands and knees. This position protects you from being knocked down and also allows you to stay low and crawl to shelter if nearby. | |
COVER your head and neck with one arm and hand

HOLD ON until shaking stops |

Employees took time out of their day to help test 24HRMED emergency procedures in order to be prepared and alert as we can be. The Health and Safety Procedure is given to all new hires, and every year to current employees in October. Thank you to all our team members who participated.
