It’s flu season! In the United States, “flu season” is common during the fall and winter months. Influenza, commonly known as flu, is “a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death.” To prevent the flu, it’s important to get a flu vaccine yearly. 24HRMED Annual Team Building Event

On August 17, 2018, 24HRMED corporate team members headed to Ronald Reagan Park in Diamond Bar for their annual team building event. Although it was hot out, team members were ready to face off one another in multiple team building activities and games. Corporate members were divided into four teams through a random draw. Games included two ice breakers, and a relay. Each team members will work together to solve trivia/riddles, complete a short race, and go head to head in a very competitive game of Jenga. The team with the most points by the end of the games wins. During lunch, our Human Resources manager counted the scores and team The Hammer came out victorious with the highest score! Congrats Team!! Allergy Season 2018

It’s allergy season! Allergy season starts in spring and lasts through early summer. What is an allergy? Allergy occurs when your immune system reacts to harmless substances in the environment. Allergies exist in many different forms such as food allergies, skin allergies, house dust mites, pet hair, and many more. But, the most common are seasonal allergies – mold and tree, grass, and weed pollen. Symptoms Common symptoms are sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose, and nasal congestion. For some who might have an underlying asthma, they can experience shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness. How can you prevent allergies or minimize exposure? Keep windows and doors shut at home and in your car. Avoid pollen by checking weather reports for pollen count. Levels are usually highest in the morning. Take a shower and change your clothes after working or spending time outdoors. Dust mites are everywhere especially on mattresses, pillows, and soft bedding.
